About

uCanyon strives to be a portal for the canyoneering community, allowing them to efficiently access all of the information that is out on the web currently. As it stands now there is a lot of information out there, however it is spread out over many sites that cover various areas and communities.

The primary goal of this site is to provide a central location where canyoneers can go to research and plan a canyon trip. To this end we provide links to the various different canyon descriptions available online and in guide books, links to notable trip reports and recent comments on the canyon condition, and provide easy access to planning resources (weather, water levels, local campsites and resources). In the near term the focus of the site will be building up an index of the beta available for the canyons that are known and posted. As the site matures we will be providing updated detailed beta for areas where it is lacking or where it has not been updated in many years.

In addition to canyon beta we will attempt to keep you informed on what is going on in the canyoneering community.

  • Provide notifications of new gear & guide books.
  • Provide notifications of informative/entertaining trip reports.
  • And finally try to provide a steady stream of canyon eyecandy, from youTube and other sources as we find it.
